In Perdoo, you have the following different goal types:
Ultimate Goal
Strategic Pillar
KPI
Objective
Key Result
Initiative
Ultimate Goal
MISSION & VISION
E.g. Remain the #1 OKR & Strategy Execution software by making strategy execution a competitive advantage for all our customers.
Your Ultimate Goal defines the ultimate winning aspirations for your business. Which battles will you fight, and which will you leave alone? When will you consider the battle won? It's often a combination of your mission and vision.
Strategic Pillars
HOW-TO-WIN CHOICES
E.g. Be a great place to work.
Strategic Pillars express what makes you better than the competition. How you (aim to) differentiate yourselves in the market; and why customers choose you over the competition. These choices are directly connected to your Ultimate Goal and explain your how-to-win choices.
KPIs
MAINTENANCE GOALS
E.g. Employer NPS ≥ 30
KPI stands for Key Performance Indicator. It’s a type of performance measurement, aimed at evaluating the success of an ongoing process or particular activity.
KPIs are quantifiable measures of performance for the efforts and activities that are key to an organization or team. These are all the activities that you need to monitor and measure on an ongoing basis to keep the lights on — your business as usual. For that reason, KPIs are often referred to as “health metrics.“
Add Company KPIs or Team KPIs.
Objectives
CHANGE GOALS
E.g. Improve employee retention
An Objective describes an outcome you’d like to achieve within a specific time period. An Objective sets the direction — think of it like a destination on a map.
An Objective answers the question: “Where do I want to go?”
Add Company Objectives or Team Objectives.
Key Results
DESIRED OUTCOMES FOR YOUR OBJECTIVES
E.g. Reduce Voluntary Turnover Rate by 10%
A Key Result is a measurable outcome required to achieve the Objective. It helps you measure progress toward the Objective — like a signpost that shows how close you are to your destination.
Key Results answer the question: “What results do we need to achieve to get there?"
Initiatives
PROJECTS
E.g. Introduce bi-annual Performance Reviews.
Initiatives can be standalone projects, or projects that help you achieve a Key Result or maintain a KPI:
For Key Results, they answer the question "What do we need to do to achieve those results?"
For KPIs they show the ongoing work, the 'business-as-usual', that goes into maintaining those KPIs.
When they stand on their own, they reflect other important work that needs to be done that's not focused on a particular outcome — e.g. acquiring a certification like SOC 2 or ISO270001.
