The Tableau integration automatically updates your goals based on a data field in Tableau.
Enabling the Tableau integration
To enable the Tableau integration:
Go to Personal settings > Integrations > Tableau. Superadmins can also go to Configure > Integrations > Tableau.
Click 'Enable'.
In the modal, add:
Hostname
API Version
Personal Access Token
Personal Access Token Secret
Click Connect.
After it's enabled, you can choose to keep the integration private or shared with everyone else under 'Settings'.
How to integrate a KPI, Key Result, or Initiative with Tableau
When creating a KPI, Key Result or Initiative, click on Advanced Options. If the goal already exists, you can edit from the details modal in the right side panel.
Select Tableau under Progress driver > Integration.
Select Connection.
Select Source Type:
Worksheet: Select Workbook, View, Data Field and Aggregation.
Pulse Metric: Select Metric Definition and Metric ID.
Review Preview.
Click Save & Sync now.
Important notes
Perdoo checks for a new value as often as the goal's Sync frequency says, for example daily or weekly. Every sync adds a progress update, even if the value hasn't changed.
If there is an issue with the connection, you'll get an email notifying you that the integration stopped working and you'll see a red connection error status on the goal.
If you'd like to update the goal at any time, you can click "Update progress" and the latest value will be fetched, or open the integration and click "Save & Sync now".
For a private connection, the lead or anyone with permission to update the goal can manually fetch the value when updating progress, but they do not have access to the integration's configuration/settings.
