Make OKRs or KPIs private

Ensure goals are only visible to the right people.

Updated this week

ℹ️ Available on Supreme.

Transparency is great, but sometimes things can't be shared with everyone. Whether there's an upcoming merger, or you're working on a classified partnership, you can mark any OKR or KPI as private in Perdoo. Need greater controls? You can even restrict visibility to a person's team(s). Manage all your goals in one place, even if they're not for everyone to see.

With Private settings in Perdoo, you get complete flexibility over who sees what to balance transparency with reality.

Make specific OKRs or KPIs private

Getting started

Superadmins must first enable this feature in Configure > Features:

Enable private OKRs and KPIs in Configure > Features tab

How to make an OKR private

  1. Create or edit an Objective.

  2. Click Public to see the visibility options.

  3. Select Private.

  4. Click More options to add Contributors (optional).

  5. Click Save.

A Private OKR is only visible to the OKR leads (Objective, Key Result and Initiative leads) and contributors.

You can find your private OKRs in your Active OKRs tab, marked with a lock icon. Private OKRs are not included in reporting or team summaries, such as Goals or the Map, nor can you align them.

How to make a KPI private

  1. Create or edit a KPI.

  2. Click Advanced Options.

  3. Choose to hide or unhide the KPI (private KPIs are visible to the Lead and Contributors only).

  4. Add who else should see the KPI (optional).

  5. Click Save.

Private KPIs are identified on user pages and KPI modals with a lock icon:

IMPORTANT:

  • Private goals are excluded from reporting.

  • It's not possible to change an Aligned OKR to Private from Public. You first need to Skip the Alignment.

  • Private KPIs can have aligned Objectives created from them, but the aligned Objective will remain private, also to the same people ("visible to" in the KPI becomes "Contributors" in the OKR).

  • If you just need more time before making your OKR active, you could enable Limit draft Objective visibility feature and save your OKR as a draft instead.

Restricting visibility of goals to own team(s)

Need even more privacy? By restricting visibility of goals for standard users to their own team(s), you can be sure that people only have access to the right goals.

Getting started

IMPORTANT:

  • Standard users will be able to see goals for their teams and sub-teams. When a standard user visits another team’s or user’s page that they don't have access to, they'll see the message: “You don’t have access to this team’s / user’s goals.”

  • Standard users will still be able to see the Company strategy, OKRs and KPIs.

  • Standard users can access the goals of another team when they are a lead or contributor for a KPI, Objective, or the Objective’s Results.

  • Admins and Superadmins can see all goals without restriction.
