It’s important to stay on top of your goals on a weekly basis to ensure you are successful at the end of the quarter. Goals helps you focus on the things that need attention by filtering the needed information and creating custom views.

As a manager, it's important to frequently follow up on your team's OKRs to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. You can do this individually or during team meetings.

Goals is a great resource for this. I, for example, check OKRs for the Customer Experience department and its sub-teams every 1 or 2 weeks. Here's how:

  1. From Goals, I first filter by Owner and make sure the right timeframe is selected. From this list, I then check when the OKR was last updated. If there's been no recent activity, I click on the Objective and send a note to the OKR lead to request an update.

  2. You can also filter your list to show all OKRs aligned to a specific parent OKR. This way you can monitor how sub-Objectives are progressing and supporting the OKRs above them.

  3. In our monthly department meetings, we begin our discussions by looking at Goals. We filter all Key Results that are below a certain progress or by status to first focus on the ones that are at risk.

    * NOTE: If you find that you're using a view frequently, you can simply save it by clicking [Save so you can] access the data a lot faster next time.

  4. In our weekly team meetings, we usually focus more on Initiatives, especially those at risk or in need of attention. During the meeting, I go to Goals and search for my saved view. We start by discussing the most urgent matters and if we need more context, we simply click on the Objective to open the side panel.

  5. Last, if you need to create a report, you can also export the data by clicking [the icon in the top-right corner].

That's it for now!
