Clone goals

Copy a goal to another timeframe, team, or Lead.

ℹ️ Available on Premium and Supreme.

Clone a goal to reuse it instead of adding it again from scratch. This works for Objectives, Key Results, Initiatives, and KPIs. For example:

  • An OKR is still a priority at the end of the cycle. Close it to capture your learnings, then clone it to the next timeframe.

  • Several teams have similar goals. Clone the goal once for each team.

Clone a goal

  1. Open the goal, click the kebab menu at the top right, and select Clone.

  2. Choose the Timeframe (1) to clone to.

  3. Choose the Team and the Lead (2).

  4. To keep the goal's integrations, turn on Clone integrations (3).

  5. To keep the start and current values, turn on Retain progress values (4). Otherwise, the current value becomes the start value and progress resets to 0%.

  6. Under Clone aligned Goals (5), select the sub-goals to clone too, such as the Objective's Key Results and Initiatives.

  7. To clone the goal again right after, for example for another team, turn on Keep cloning (6).

  8. Click Clone (7).

Important

  • KPIs don't have a timeframe, so you only choose the team, Lead, integrations, and aligned goals.

  • A Key Result or Initiative that's part of an Objective is cloned into the same Objective.

Good to know

What should I do with an OKR that isn't finished?

Close it, then clone, move, or keep it active. See How to handle OKRs that aren't finished and Close, archive, and delete goals.
